My office is located in the IUT de Lens. Most of the time, I teach in the Multimedia department (also called MMI department); however, occasionally, I teach
classes in the computer science department.
My main courses are :
- Networks (network architecture, communications protocols)
- Operating System (Unix)
- Web Programming (HTML/CSS, PHP, JS,...) and associated frameworks (Laravel, Jquery, Bootstrap,...)
- Low level programming with C/C++ (memory managment, pointers and addresses)
I teach also in some "Licence professionnelle" of the IUT de Lens : LP CreaWeb and LP SARI.
Course materials are available on the
Moodle platform of the Université d'Artois.
I set up and maintain a computer room dedicated to network technologies.
Computers of the room are totally isolated from the network of the IUT de Lens. Thus, students can have a total access to the computers (administrator
rights) and plug/unplug networking cables as they want.
Active networking equipments such as switches are integrated in a
central network cabinet.
A server (Dell PowerEdge R210) is used to store a local Debian package repository (actually Debian Jessie 8.3). Students can download the required
packages for practical exercices from this mirror.
This server also offers DHCP, FTP and TFTP services.
After each course, an automatic procedure allows us to reinstall the Operating System
(PXE and preseed file) from the local mirror.
Here is a list of some examples of practical exercices realized with this tool:
- LAMP : Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP server
- Router and firewall (iptables) setting up
- Wireless access from Windows and Linux devices
- Audio streaming (icecast) and video streaming (vlc)
- Voice over IP (Asterisk)
- Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
- ...
